An ingenious device designed by Bill Fretz for creating spinner rings. First, you take your basic ring shape and position it over one of the holes in the steel-faced block. The other tool in this jig set is the stamping mandrel which has a concave taper on the working end. Position the tapered end over your ring blank and strike the mandrel with a brass mallet (do not use a steel hammer). Count the number of strikes so that you may achieve the same flare when you work the other side of your ring. Now you can install your spinner. Place the flared ring and spinner over one of the holes in the block with the already flared end touching the block. Strike the ring with the mandrel using as many strikes as were used on the other side of the ring. It’s that simple. Made in Vietnam. The hammer shown in the photo is not included.
